Dr. Paul Cheong Lee has overall responsibility for all of organization’s activities. He overseas GBI’s three different centers as well as its fellowship program. He actively promotes GBI’s mission of educating public about the importance of US-Korea relationship through public diplomacy.
Dr. Lee has worked at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) since 2001 as a Senior Information Technology Consultant, delivering IT solutions to enhance IMF’s internal business process as well as business transactions with member constituent countries. Since joining the Fund, He successfully managed and executed several large projects as project leader, lead technical consultant, data architect, network specialist and software engineer. He possesses a deep understanding of how best to utilize the technology to deliver and achieve the enterprise solutions that meet requirements of business. Dr. Lee was also in charge of communications technology during the IMF/World Bank Group Annual meetings, which are held twice annual in Washington, DC and overseas member countries every three years.
Prior to joining the IMF, Dr. Lee worked as Vice President and Partner at the Stickdog Telecom and Information Inc. where he mainly focused on improving the customer relations. He devised and formulated unique programs to enhance the technical support for its customers, while cultivating the human relationship. Earlier in his career, Dr. Lee was a successfully entrepreneur. He established IT company to provide technical diagnostic advice and on-site support on various hardware complications and network conflicts to the US Park Police, Department of Housing, Department of Corrections, and other small and medium private companies.
Dr. Lee holds Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, Master of Arts degree in Linguistics from University of South Florida. He later earned a Doctorate in Linguistics from Georgetown University.
